It has been my pleasure serving as the (ISC)2 Melbourne Chapter president and chair since 2012, through tremendous growth and establishment of a community of information security practitioners and supports. I end my tenure in November 2018 by thanking you for the past 6.5 years:
- Thanks to you, we’ve gone from 15 founding members of the inaugural (ISC)2 Melbourne Chapter to 587 people
- Thanks to you, we now offer opportunities for networking and sharing information security trends and information every two months and focus on technical topics thought to be underrepresented in Melbourne
- Thanks to you and chapter promotional activities, CISSP-certified people across Australia now exceed 2,300 people, up from less than 1,000 people in the early days
- Thanks to you, the local Melbourne market now accommodates more than a dozen security-related organisations and ‘meetups’, offering us all many choices to work on challenges in the industry and celebrate successes. We could count Melbourne-based security organisations on just one hand six years ago!
